Len Hayball established a new practice in 1983 with a clear intention – to focus on people, whether the clients and communities at the centre of projects or the staff at the heart of the practice.
Genuine collaboration and generous transfer of opportunity are the result. These guiding principles continue to motivate and inspire us today.
Ric Leonard and Rob Stent joined Len as directors in 1987, continuing in their roles for more than 30 years. Coming together to mark the milestone of the practice’s 40th anniversary, Len, Ric, and Rob reflect in conversation on the early days of practice life, the changing impact of technology, and Hayball’s early interest in city-making.
Longstanding client relationships, sector diversity and interstate growth each are cited as factors in Hayball’s resilience to date and optimism for the future.
