Connect with David

David’s early education was influenced by four engineers in the family but it was architecture that beckoned, allowing creative expression to combine with acute analytical skills and a lifelong passion for making and constructing things. It’s with these attributes that David leads sustainability and construction innovation across Hayball’s design platform. He’s also heavily invested in Hayball’s design culture, distinguished for its methodical and highly collaborative, research-based enquiry.

David’s deep expertise is across an uncommon diversity of projects which extends across urban design, civic buildings, schools, universities and multi-residential student housing.

“Projects where we’re transferring knowledge and research across typologies, these are what I’m fundamentally attracted to, and where projects – largely because of their complexity, but also because of new procurement models – demand a highly coordinated and integrated approach, I’m very good that.”

A clear and influential communicator, David is highly adept at assimilating multiple viewpoints to distill what will provide the most benefit to end users. He leads cross-disciplinary teams in the delivery of projects involving complex governance and stakeholders, including the award winning Library at the Dock (with Clare Design) and La Trobe University’s Eastern Campus Redevelopment.

David sits on the Hayball Board which is responsible for the overall Corporate Governance of the company.
