GL[E]AM 2022 Session 2

26 May 2022

Authored by Hayball

Beyond the Building: Temporality, time and space
Designing the user experience through time

In our May GL[E]AM forum, our speakers explored the idea of legacy – focusing on the concept of user experience of places through time. Our three speakers used various case studies, each differing in permanence, to explore what we can learn from the temporary to inform permanent infrastructure. The projects highlighted the importance of listening to the stories and needs of the users at the outset, as well as balancing the economics to ensure a project’s longevity. This was a Hybrid event, livestreamed from both our Melbourne and Sydney offices.

“The content of the Gleam sessions is based around ideas and thinking. I always end up enriched and in a different head place.”

Thank you to our speakers Steve Smith (Urban Narrative), Su Lim (Freestate) and Kevin Carmody (Carmody Groarke) for sharing their ideas and experience.
