Library as Community Living Room
From ‘collector’ to ‘connector’ – libraries as informal learning environments
This month’s session invited the audience into the community-driven lives of librarians. The conversation revolves around the evolution of libraries as community living rooms, emphasising the increasing presence of these facilities in our cities as learning and social anchors. Key considerations from the evening acknowledge the growth of diversity and culture in local communities, and finding the balance between flexible, but purposeful spaces within our community hubs.
Thank you to our wonderful speakers Kim Sherwin (City of Sydney), David Tordoff (Hayball) and Joy Suliman (City of Canada Bay).
