Hayball is a Melbourne based design practice offering architecture, interior design and urban design services. Established in 1983 as Hayball Leonard Stent and rebranded as Hayball in early 2008, the firm is led by six directors, an associate director and three associates. Our current staff of 60 comprises architects, interior designers, urban designers, technicians, graphic designers, a research and knowledge team, and a finance and practice management team. Hayball is an acknowledged leader in combining sound market-based solutions with architectural excellence. Highly regarded for the design of inner urban and destination residential developments, our work ranges from private houses and resorts to student housing projects and apartment towers. We also specialise in the design of major education facilities, focussing on the creation of settings that capture the creative spirit and ethos of a school.
At Hayball, our interior design team delivers timely, resolved and inventive design strategies on residential, commercial, retail and hospitality projects. Thanks to our open and integrative mode of working within the office, we rely on interior design to create spaces and surfaces that reflect and enrich each project's architectural essence.
Beyond its design output, Hayball is a passionate contributor to the wider design debate. Involved in statutory, regulatory and academic bodies, we benefit from many of our staff's teaching, lecturing and advisory commitments.
